
Borysław Czyżak, Ph.D.
Education
Borysław Czyżak is a graduate of the Faculty of Physics at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Polish Academy of Sciences in 1991 and lectured at Poznań University of Technology. He completed research fellowships at Oxford University and Stanford University in the heart of California’s Silicon Valley. In the second half of the 1990s, he joined the Warsaw office of McKinsey & Company, a strategic consulting firm, where he participated in projects related to privatization and strategic transformations in industrial companies, airlines, telecommunications, and banking. During this time, he also completed the MMBA program in the Netherlands, offered to McKinsey employees.
Experience
From 2000 to 2014, he was affiliated with the Swiss firm Egon Zehnder International and its Warsaw office, and from 2007, he served as a Partner at the Egon Zehnder AG headquarters in Zurich. He also held the position of President of Egon Zehnder Poland. He specializes in strategic talent advisory, corporate governance, and leadership development. In recent years, he has led numerous projects involving mergers and acquisitions support, executive search, supervisory board development, and management audits across Poland, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Middle East. In Poland, he has worked with many companies listed on the WIG20 index but dedicates most of his time to privately held founder-led businesses.
He is also an active investor in technology companies and was a member of the Investment Committee of the venture capital fund Simpact. He is one of the founders of the “Well of Hope” Foundation, which builds wells in Africa. He is married with two adult children.
On May 29, 2015, by resolution of the Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of Selena FM S.A., he was appointed to the Supervisory Board of the Company. He was subsequently reappointed for successive terms by resolutions of the Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of Selena FM S.A. on June 14, 2018, May 27, 2021, and May 27, 2025.
