Mariusz Warych
Education
Mariusz Warych completed a foreign trade programme at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology at the University of Lodz, and has a diploma in Finance and Accounting obtained at Hogeschool van Utrecht in the Netherlands. He participated in the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) programme and holds a CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) diploma. He specialises in the management, supervision and assessment of business performance, identification and resolution of financial and operational weaknesses, management of risks associated with the achievement of business objectives, internal audit, business training and independent membership of supervisory boards and audit committees.
Experience
Since June 2013 he has been an independent member of the Supervisory Board at BNP Paribas Bank Polska S.A., where he also chairs the Audit Committee.
Since June 2020, he has served as an independent member of the Supervisory Board at JSC Ukrsibbank in Ukraine, where he also chairs the Audit Committee and sits on the Nomination and Remuneration Committee as well as the Compliance Committee. Since May 2021, he has been an independent member of the Supervisory Board at Signal Iduna Polska TU and Signal Iduna Życie Polska TU, where he is also a member of the Audit Committee. From 2011 to 2012, he served on the Supervisory Board and Audit Committee of JSW.
So far, in his professional career he has held the positions of Director of Internal Audit in Europe in the following companies: KBC Group, Aviva, Allianz and PZU, and also held the position of CFO at Citileasing and Handlowy-Leasing. He has also worked as a Risk Management Director at Deloitte and as an External Auditor, employed around the world by leading offices of Ernst & Young, specialising in financial services and next generation (high-tech) companies in Warsaw, London, Toronto, Vancouver and New York. Since 2009, he has chaired the Club of Audit Chiefs in Poland. He was also a financial advisor to the Canadian Polish Congress in Vancouver, where he hosted a broadcast on the Polish Radio NOFA.
On 16 October 2017, by way of a resolution of the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of Selena FM S.A., he was appointed to the Supervisory Board of the Company. Then, on 14 June 2018, and subsequently on 27 May 2021, he was appointed to successive terms on the Supervisory Board, based on consecutive resolutions of the Ordinary General Meeting.
