Grupa Selena – global manufacturer and distributor of construction chemicals – made the finals in the competition for the Polish President’s Economic Award. Selena was one of the three best companies in the category „Presence in the global markets.” The Award ceremony was held on 29 May 2012 at the opening of Poznan International Fair.
Awards were presented in four categories: „Innovation”, „Corporate governance and corporate social responsibility”, “Presence in the global markets” and “Green Economy.” The winners were chosen from among 12 final nominees.
„The Polish President’s Award – also known as the „Polish Economic Nobel Prize” – is one of the most prestigious economic distinctions in Poland. It is of great value to us that the work we have put into the Selena Group has been appreciated. For Selena, it proves that our strategy of global growth – focused on reaching a strong position both in Poland and in international markets of construction chemicals – is yielding positive effects. For us, the Award gives evidence of the quality of Selena’s business model and motivates us to keep working on reaching the company objectives and promoting Polish economy on the international arena” – said Andrzej Ulfig, Selena Poland CEO, on behalf of the Board of the Group.
President’s Economic Award is a prestigious distinction honoured to companies and institutions that help building a positive picture of Polish business internationally and have high impact on the economic growth of the country. The Award was first held in 1998 by the President Aleksander Kwasniewski and was presented till 2005. In 2011, the President Bronisław Komorowski re-instated the Award. Candidates are proposed by the local voivodeship (province) authorities, most prominent economic organisations and committees for the most prestigious awards in Poland. Nominations come from the Committee and the winners are chosen by the Polish President.
The Selena Group has received numerous distinctions in the most prestigious rankings in Poland. They include, among others: Forbes’s Diamond, Pearl of the Polish Economy, Construction Company of the Year 2010 and 2011 in the contest organized by the Builder monthly magazine as well as the title of Reliable Employer of the Year. Moreover, TYTAN Professional, as the only brand in the category „Construction Chemistry” in Poland was distinguished as the Premium Brand in the ranking by Millward Brown SMG/KRC Institute and was honoured with the title Brand of High Reputation.
