Selena Group – global manufacturer and distributor of construction chemistry – along with three other companies received the Economic Award of the Polish President. Selena was recognised for „Durable Success”. The awards were presented personally by the Polish president Bronisław Komorowski at the official gala opening the Poznań International Fair in Poznań, Poland on 2 June 2014.
„It is a very special award for us because it showcases the durability of Selena’s business achievements. Selena has been serving customers for 22 years, initially in Poland, and for the past ten years – internationally. Today, we have over dozen businesses outside Poland and not only do we market our products, we also manufacture them in countries such as Turkey, Brazil, China, Spain or Romania. It is thanks to this global scale of operations that we’ve been able to grow the Selena Group dynamically in various directions. We’re all the more pleased that Selena’s way of doing business – focused on building a strong presence in the construction chemistry sector both in Poland and worldwide – has been distinguished with the Economic Award of the President of Poland. This year’s competition ranked companies in the following categories: Innovativeness, Global Presence, Corporate Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility, Green Economy and Durable Success.
Economic Award of the President of the Republic of Poland is a prestigious award presented to companies and institutions that offer significant contribution to Poland’s economic development, and help build positive image of the Polish business abroad. The award was first established in 1998 by the president Aleksander Kwaśniewski and was presented until 2005. In 2011 president Bronisław Komorowski resumed awarding it. Candidates are proposed by the local authorities, major economic organisations and organisers for the most prestigious awards given in Poland. Nominees are indicated by a jury and the winners are selected by the President.
