Innovations and technologies
Selena Labs – R&D centre of Selena Group, one of the global leaders in the construction chemicals sector and an owner of the TYTAN brand – continues its development strategy. Since the 90s of the 20th century, the company’s home has been in Wrocław. In 2019, it opened its main laboratory centre in the city of Dzierżoniów. The launch of a new laboratory brought modern technological solutions and a new work culture into the region, while creating growth opportunities for SMEs. Thanks to this research unit, talented scientists from Lower Silesia are able to develop their skills in a world-class facility.
Selena’s strength lies in the constant search for new, high-quality solutions that change the approach to construction based on creativity and respect for the environment. It is thanks to the ideas devised and implemented by the R&D department that Selena’s products, such as the solutions based on hybrid polymers, are guaranteed to create a new value for users – this is particularly important in the era of changing climate conditions. Under the EENSULATE project, the Selena Labs Center received a grant for developing and implementing a system of polyurethane foams and foam adhesives with advanced insulation properties. The project is part of Horizon 2020, the largest research and innovation funding program in the history of the European Union.
Selena Labs also participates in the BioMotive project which is designed to pave the ground towards the production and subsequent sale of components based on biorenewable raw materials from non-crop plants. INNOVATION DRIVES THE WHOLE WORLD, but it should serve people. Selena Labs implemented a new model for innovation development. It uses a methodology that allows the time of work on a product to be shortened from 2 years to 6 months. This increases its competitive edge on the international front.
The company’s laboratory, an essential part of any innovative firm, complements the Group’s scientific and production chain and fits in with its strategy of international expansion enabled by product advantage.
