In 2026, the Selena Group is not slowing down. In the first six months of the year, the company generated 13.7 million euros in profit from continuing operations and 18.1 million euros in gross profit. This represents year-over-year increases of 33.9 percent and 29.9 percent, respectively, in euro terms. The company, which will celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2027, also increased its profitability to 35.1 percent, once again confirming its position as a global leader in the construction chemicals sector. At the same time, it demonstrated that it is consistently building its value over the long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The building materials industry continues to face a challenging global market environment. The slowdown is evident in Europe, the Americas, and Asia. \u201cHowever, we view this more challenging environment not as a constraint, but as an impetus for more effective management, cost optimization, and seizing opportunities for acquisitions and building synergies,\u201d<\/em> says S\u0142awomir Majchrowski, CEO of the Selena Group<\/strong>. The financial results for the first half of the year, which continue to show a growth trend, confirm the validity of the goals and strategic directions set by the company\u2019s management board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the reporting period, the group generated a 33.9 percent increase in net income from continuing operations. Gross profit reached 18.1 million euros, which also translated into a one-third year-over-year increase in this metric. The Selena Group\u2019s operating profit (EBIT) for the first half of 2026 amounted to 21.9 million euros\u2014an increase of over 11 percent year-over-year. The company confirmed its stability by achieving a profitability rate of 35.1%, which, compared to 34.9% a year ago, represents an increase of +0.2 percentage points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Geographic diversification is the foundation of its competitive advantage<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Selena Group\u2019s Management Board notes that price pressure and unpredictable disruptions in the global supply chain remain the key factors slowing down companies\u2019 growth today. Broad geographic diversification offers an opportunity to build a competitive advantage and maintain stability. \u201cOur production facilities are currently located on several continents.\u201d We manufacture in Asia\u2014including Kazakhstan, South Korea, and China\u2014in various parts of Europe, as well as in Turkey and Brazil. This enhances our flexibility and provides a great sense of security, as we are able to avoid the worst effects of conflicts,\u201d<\/em> notes the CEO of the Selena Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acquisitions remain one of the main tools for the Selena Group\u2019s geographic diversification, allowing the company to enter new market areas with significantly less risk than through organic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe first half of 2026 brought us one of the largest acquisitions in Selena\u2019s history: the completion in May of the first phase of the transaction to acquire a 66% stake in the Portuguese sandwich panel manufacturer Gruppo IGM<\/em>,\u201d says Andrzej Zygad\u0142o, Member of the Management Board for Corporate Development<\/strong>, responsible, among other things, for acquisition processes. \u201cThanks to this transaction<\/em>, we are significantly strengthening our position on the Iberian Peninsula, where we already have a trading company, Selena Iberia; a production facility in Quer, near Madrid; and Imperalum, a Portuguese company specializing in the production of waterproofing materials, which we acquired in 2023.\u201d \u201cThese assets form a well-complementary business in this geographic region,\u201d<\/em> states Andrzej Zygad\u0142o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two-Pronged Organic Growth<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In parallel with seeking new acquisition opportunities, the Selena Group is focused on its organic growth, pursuing it on two fronts\u2014by expanding its own production capacity and by strengthening its capabilities in new technologies and bringing innovative products to market that redefine the standards of the building materials industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An investment in expanding the Selena Group\u2019s production capacity, underway since early 2026, is the construction of a second plant for the production of plasters and adhesive mortars in Shymkent. The Selena Group\u2019s first dry mortar production plant was launched in Astana in 2016. The choice of Szymkret\u2014located in southern Kazakhstan\u2014as the site for the second plant is no coincidence either; it serves as an excellent base for expansion throughout Central Asia, especially since the Tytan Professional brand has been extremely popular and highly regarded in Kazakhstan for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, the Selena Group strives to systematically introduce innovative products to the market. An example of a major product launch from the first half of 2026 is the Tytan Professional Revo 360\u00b0 tube-style construction foam, introduced to the Polish market in March.  \u201cThis product sets a new standard for ergonomic work in the construction industry. Its innovative applicator with two independent triggers allows for application both downward and upward, giving the contractor greater control over the application,\u201d<\/em> \u2013 says Micha\u0142 Specjalski, Member of the Management Board for Products and Innovation at the Selena Group<\/strong>. – The product is already available in Poland and Romania, and starting in September, it will also be available in Bulgaria and Spain. We are now working on expanding its distribution to enter additional markets next year<\/em> \u2013 he adds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company\u2019s consistency in implementing its strategic objectives is evidenced by this year\u2019s Deloitte Best Managed Companies Poland 2026 Golden Laurel, which the Selena Group received in June of this year. The company has once again been ranked among the best-managed private enterprises in Poland, maintaining this status continuously since the program\u2019s first Polish edition in 2022. The award recognizes, among other things, high management standards, strategic consistency, and the organization\u2019s ability to build long-term value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Directions for Further Growth<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are closely monitoring changes in the market, as they determine the direction of our investment decisions,\u201d<\/em> says S\u0142awomir Majchrowski, CEO of the Selena Group, when asked about the company\u2019s long-term strategic goals. \u201cFor years, we\u2019ve assessed the sector\u2019s condition primarily through the lens of new investments. Meanwhile, an increasing portion of future demand will stem from the need to modernize buildings, improve their energy efficiency, and bring them into compliance with new standards,<\/em>\u201d,\u201d argues the CEO of the Selena Group, referring to the conclusions of the European Commission\u2019s July assessment of 16 draft National Building Renovation Plans, prepared in connection with the revised EPBD directive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this reason, the development of innovative products and investments in thermal and waterproofing solutions\u2014supported by a selective acquisition strategy in the most promising markets of Western Europe and the Americas\u2014will remain key tools for scaling the Selena Group\u2019s business in the coming years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
