In this year’s edition, the competition recognized the activities of Selena FM in terms of solutions for the design and marketing of construction products with a reduced environmental footprint, including a significantly reduced carbon footprint compared to standard products of the same category. Such products follow the Fit for 55 regulations (a package of climate regulations under the European Green Deal), and their launch is necessary to reduce the overall carbon footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition jury granted the company the platinum award in the environmental innovation category for the design and marketing of high-yield, low-pressure gun foam for insulating windows and doors \u2013 Tytan Professional\u00ae Low-Ex Green \u2013  whose unique formulation is partly based on raw materials derived in 100% from renewable sources. The innovative and technologically advanced product is the only foam in the market whose composition is based on bio-ingredients (content of the renewable plant component: BIOSELENOLS\u00ae \u2013 polyols) that ensure better environmental characteristics while not compromising the product\u2019s excellent technical parameters. The foam\u2019s carbon footprint is reduced by 50% compared to standard mounting foams available on European markets. With its unique structural density, it effectively and permanently reduces thermal bridges, ensuring high energy efficiency of installation, and thus maintaining excellent door and window parameters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The award in the \u201cESG Innovator 2023\u201d competition confirms the importance of investing in solutions that respond to the challenges related to the decarbonization of the construction industry by 2050. The platinum award is a recognition for the entire team that developed the unique and groundbreaking formulation of the Tytan Professional\u00ae Low-Ex Green foam product<\/em>,\u201d says Ewa Kosmala, Global Sustainability Director at Selena Group. \u201cIntroducing that foam to the market is consistent with the pillars of Selena Group’s sustainable development strategy IFEEC, notably in the area of Climate, where one of the values is specifically to reduce the carbon footprint of products<\/em>. In addition to marketing products based on raw materials stemming from renewable sources, including bio-based feedstock, Selena Group also produces foam adhesives, which are also characterized by a reduced carbon footprint of up to 44% and significantly help lower the carbon footprint during transport. They also reduce water and electricity consumption during construction itself,\u201d <\/em>Ewa Kosmala notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tytan Professional\u00ae Low-Ex Green is the first foam in Europe that has the ISCC Plus certificate awarded based on strict criteria.  The purpose of the standard is to reduce the use of fossil raw materials in favor of renewable and recycled raw materials. ISCC Plus is part of the circular economy and the plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (Green Deal EU, Fit for 55, Decarbonization of Construction by 2050). The certificate is recognized around the world and allows companies from the construction industry to actually reduce the impact of their products on the natural environment. At a time when companies’ sustainability claims are increasingly scrutinized by regulators, consumers and non-governmental organizations, ISCC Plus makes it possible to distinguish sustainable and unsustainable supply chains like no other certification currently available. This makes ISCC Plus an effective and efficient tool in eliminating greenwashing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selena Group is working hard to develop solutions that fit the sustainable construction philosophy. In this year\u2019s edition of the 2000 List \u2013 an annual ranking of large and medium-sized companies compiled by the Rzeczpospolita<\/em> daily \u2013 Selena was awarded as the Most Innovative Company. And in 2022, in the first edition of the ESG Innovator competition, Selena Group was awarded in two categories: \u201cVisionary of the Polish ESG Association\u201d for being an ESG leader among Polish companies, and for innovation in the production of polyols as part of the \u201cSelenols\u201d project. The ESG Innovator competition is organized by the Polish ESG Association. Its aim is to recognize projects that have a positive impact on the natural environment, the well-being of employees and local communities, and improve transparency and corporate governance in organizations. In this year’s edition, prizes were awarded in four categories: E \u2013 Innovation in the environment area S \u2013 Innovation in the social area G \u2013 Innovation in the corporate governance and start-up area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
